How can I lose 20 lbs in 4 months?

I am currently 140lbs and would like to reach my regular weight of 120 as soon as I can. I have already started to have 5 small meals and work out everyday for and hour minimum. I tried this last yr and didn't lose any thing. Is there any other changes to be made?
Answer:
You may not have lost weight because when you exercise, you put on muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat, so when you lose fat and put on muscle, sometimes it can even look like you've -gained- weight. You need to be looking at your body fat percentage. You're not fat right now. If you tone up, who cares how much you weigh. It's how you look. Not what the scale says. If you can't get an accurate picture of yourself looking in the mirror, have somebody take a pic of you so you can see yourself objectively.
stop the five meals and have the daily 3
I did the South Beach Diet and lost about 35 pounds in that time with light exercising!
Get stranded on an island. It worked for the guy in Cast Away.
actually thats a really tough question
you could try to eat healthy food like no carbs and pure good
i dunno...if not ask someone for a recomendated diet
Doing what you're doing is the healthest way to lose your weight. Try a lot of cardio - that burns fat the fastest - for at least 20 minutes. Once you get used to the 20 minutes then I would go a little longer. Be sure to stick to your diet no matter what; I know it gets tough but stick to it and it will work. Perhaps last time you didn't stick with it as much as possible and kind of "fell off the wagon". Also, in the future if you know you want to lose a certain amount of weight then I would start ASAP; the longer you have for your diet and excercise to kick in the better.Good luck! =)
Are you counting calories? Are you keeping your fat consumption between 25 and 30% of your total intake? What does your work out consist of? Are you walking or jogging? as this is truly the best way to butn calories fast, but keep your cardio and weights down to 3 times per week with daily walking. Are you keeping a written journal to know exactly what is going into your body? These are the main keys needed to lose that weight and keep it off forever. Good Luck!
P.S. Please don't forget to keep track of your fluid intake also. This is very important in maintaining balance in your system.
I agree with themeindzeye. He or she should be chosen as best answer. Don't do any quick weight loss plans. You will gain the weight back. Its about a lifestyle change. Just eat healthy and exercise and you will be fine. 140lbs is a good weight. You may just need to tone up a little.
I think 20 lbs in 4 mos. should be a breeze. Cut out all the garbage (chips, doritoes, cookies, cakes, ice cream.) Drink lots of water. Eat lots of fruits and veggies, lean chicken, tuna in water is easy and great, other fish, and some lean meat. No egg yolks, the whites are fine (hard-boiled, duh!) I think with you, it's all about the food, but you still have to MOVE! Walking is great. Swimming is great. Only eat when you're hungry; not bored. And my secret tip, go to bed a little hungry. You'll feel great in the morning! Good luck!
Cut most sugar from your diet except for natural sugars from fruit, no regular soda (diet soda is ok in limited amounts of course) absolutely no fast food, no white bread or any white flour, only whole 100% grains, plenty of water, lots of vegetables, a good quality multi-vitamin supplement. Also, do 30-60 minutes of cardio 6 days a week. This is how I lost 50 lbs. I used to be a size 13/14 and now I'm a size 3/4. I promise this will work for you.
